as we stand on a spinning shelf
and the rubber universe expands
somewhere is an idle prophesy
that can tie up the strands of time
into
a
neat
bundle
and carry man and his concrete jungle
far into the divine destiny
he has sought ever since he
wondered over thunder
found lightning frightening
pushed a dirty finger along a white cave wall
and created
a culture
